  • Does this remind you of any stories you know?

The Dragon

  • What do you know about dragons?
  • Can you think of anything we’ve seen on the tour that rhymes with dragon? [wagon]
  • What else have we seen that could fly?
  • Have you ever seen other pictures or statues of a dragon?
  • What parts of the dragon can we see?

  • What is that animal?
  • Can you think of any other words that rhyme with moose? Are any of them animal names?
  • Where could we find a moose in real life?
  • Would you give a moose a bath in a bathtub?
  • Do you think a moose would fit in our bathtub?
  • What animals could we give a bath in our bathtub?
  • Why do you think people laugh when they see this painting?
  • What other animals would it be funny to see in a bathtub?

Follow-up activities could include looking up information on fish, the Grand River, dragons or moose; creating silly sentences about animals in funny places like a Moose in a Bathtub; writing a story about an animal, dragon or a time when you’ve eaten somewhere; reading books of funny stories with animals; describing one of these pieces to someone who wasn’t there with you.
