The first five years of a child’s life are the most important in establishing life-long language success.  Their environment and experiences determine connections formed in the brain.

SLD Center offers a special Engage Their Brains! Early Childhood Workshop focused on early language development. This training workshop is perfect for caregivers, parents, pre-school teachers and others who spend time with children ages 0-5. Participants will learn pre-reading and reading multisensory activities to steer young children down the road to success!

Back to School: Keeping an Eye on Reading

The first month or two of back to school are often a time of “what should I be doing” if you have any concerns about your child’s reading. There is not a single recommendation that meets the needs of all readers other than learn as much as you can and know the red flag signs.

There are five components of reading and reading development depends on all five components working together – at all ages!
